Hunting Memories

His First Elk

David Graham shares a picture of his first elk taken in Idaho in October 1998. The bull is a 6X5 and weighed in at just over 800 pounds. Graham used a 303 British with a 4X scope. The shot was around 175 yards and an upward elevation of about 65 yards. The bull was following a couple of cows as it was returning from an early morning feed in the meadows. He was taken on opening day of the hunt.
