California Bear Kill Hits
2/3 Mark
Hunters have reported bagging 960 bears so far this season, about 65 percent of the season quota according to the Department of Fish and Game.

Bear season is scheduled to run through December 31 in all bear hunting areas of California — or until the reported kill reaches 1,500 animals. Last year, the DFG closed the season on November 29 when that total was reached.

Hunters last year purchased all 18,000 tags allotted for the hunting season. With the quota taken off this year's sales, the DFG has sold 20,317 tags. The kill quota, however, remains at 1,500.
