Hunting Memories

A Big Boar

This big boar, which I am "guestimating" his weight at 300 pounds and sporting 4-inch tusks, came into my stand chasing a sow at 3:15 in the afternoon. A little shaken by his sudden appearance, my shot was a little off. A liver shot sent me on quite a blood trail. I found him in the bottom of a canyon. His massive chest filled the crevice he had rolled into, but his narrow hips allowed enough room for me to squeeze in for a photo session. Although I have taken other large boars, he is the largest to date. What a way to end 2000!
