Canada's New Gun Laws:
How to Hunt There without Big Worries
By now many outdoorsmen and women know that as of January 1, 2001, new firearms laws in Canada replaced the traditional system of crossing the border with a firearm.

Ducks Unlimited is providing resources on its web site (www.ducks.org) that will help American hunters understand the new procedures and fees, and download the necessary forms to get themselves and their guns into Canada legally and quickly. Simply log onto www.ducks.org and click on "Latest News" to find information and other resources about firearms declarations, borrowing licenses, as well as links for further information and the necessary forms. Be sure to log on and take advantage of the ready information, helpful links and downloadable forms before taking firearms into Canada.

With more than one million supporters, Ducks Unlimited is the world's leading wetland and waterfowl conservation group. Wetlands are nature's most productive ecosystems, but the United States has lost more than half of its original wetlands, and continues to lose more than 100,000 wetland acres every year.
