Last Chance for Winter Dove
This is the last chance for some Arizona winter dove action — the season closes January 6.

Arizona Game and Fish Department officials said the late-season dove hunting has evolved over the years. "A lot of hunters, like myself, have discovered that you can have great shooting in the late season yet be afield during these near perfect winter days. It's tough to beat," said Joe Janisch, information chief for Game and Fish.

Dove typically follow the same routes to water and feed every day. Look for flight patterns, especially to and from agricultural fields, water sources or roosts. "Plus, the spot you find this winter might be a good place to hunt next year," Janisch said.

Don't forget to get your 2002 Hunting License if you go afield after the New Year.
