Questions for Wildlife Agencies
Wyoming

Question:
I want to go prairie dog shooting in Wyoming this summer. Are there any new regulations?

Answer:
No. For 2002 , there is no permit required and there are no shooting restrictions. But, like last year, a portion of the Thunder Basin National Grassland of east-central Wyoming is closed to shooting during the spring and summer. Check with the forest service at (307) 358-4690 for specific boundaries.

Question:
I got my moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat licenses submitted last week. When will I get the 'good news' or get my refund check?

Answer:
The draw should be held the second week in May. With that news, residents will have plenty of time to decide their deer, elk and antelope plans and get applications for those species submitted to the Cheyenne G&F office by 5 p.m. on May 31.

Question:
When can I find a copy of the big game regs for this fall?

Answer:
Not until the Fish and Game Commission sets the final rules, and after the brochure is printed. The Commission will meet on the rules March 13-15. The booklet should be on the street in mid-April and on the Department's web site, www2.state.id.us/fishgame, at about the same time.
