| I was fortunate to come across this 4x4 blacktail buck during the last week of the 2001 California B-Zone season. The buck gross scores 142 with a net of 138+ B&C. It was rewarding to share the experience with with my longtime hunting partner and father, Bill. Over the years when we made stalks on deer, he always gave me my choice of which direction I wanted to takeand 90% of the time, he ended up with the deer. This time, it was my turn. Needless to say, when it was all over, he called me a few lucky expletives-deleted that I can't mention here.
