"The modified archers permit allows a hunter, who meets certain medical criteria, to adapt their bow to accommodate their particular disability," said Ron Aasheim, FWP Conservation Education administrator. "The result is that bowhunting is more accessible to hunters with disabilities."

Bowhunters can learn more about the adaptive equipment and how to use it at a series of workshops in August jointly sponsored by FWP and the Montana Bowhunters Association. Equipment demonstrations will include devices that lock a bow at full draw and other adaptive equipment that allows a bow to be held in shooting position on a wheelchair and to be discharged with a mouth-held device. Six workshops are scheduled across the state:
