I've been wanting to send these photos for some time. The 2000 deer season in California (D9) was a very good year for us.

The three of us are pictured with our deer in the top photo. John Haberman is shown with his first buck (left), I'm in the middle and my son, Russell Phillips, is on the right.

The bottom photo is of Russell with his first buck and the biggest one taken on this hunt.

I scouted all summer and spotted these three on a few occasions. Two hours into opening day and our season was over! It was then time to pack them out.
