Here is a picture of the big tom I whacked in the afternoon of the second day of the spring 2003 season. I took this big boy — 20 pounds with a 10-inch beard, at 2:45!

Relentless persistence and a straight PORN "Come and get me" yelp with both a mouth call and a my butternut box call suckered this lovesick boy to within 20 yards. He went into full strut about six times on his way in. He was 400 yards away to start. I let him give out one last gobble as he tried to sneak around behind me and then it was Adios Amigo!
