Mad Cow Disease Affects Canadian Hunts
USDA's ban on the import into the US of all ruminants and ruminant products from Canada in response to the identification of BSE (Mad Cow Disease) in a cow in Canada includes a ban on the import of carcasses, meat, hides, etc. of hunter killed free-ranging deer, elk. antelope, sheep, goat and caribou (or other free-ranging ruminants) from Canada.

While this may, or may not, change as the investigation in Canada proceeds, we wanted to let our readers know so those planning a Canadian hunting trip this year could make this part of their planning process.

We hope the ban is removed before the fall season begins but only time will tell.
