Hunting Memories

Lake Sonoma Bucks

Here are pictures of my hunting buddy Jeff (left photo) and me (lower photo) on our California Lake Sonoma hunt in October 2001. We shot our bucks about 15 minutes apart on the same ridge on the lake. Also their blood trails almost crossed each other, making tracking difficult. My forked-horn buck swam across the lake and I had to get a ride across to finish him off. Jeff's 4x3 doubled back up the ridge and went down the other side, which made for some tricky trailing. We saw lots of bucks during the hunt. Jeff had gone up early and videoed some deer and we believe he got his buck on film prior to the hunt.
