Hunting Memories

Sierra Nevada Buck

I took this 4x4 buck on the last hunt of the last day of the California 2003 D6 deer season. I was making a push through a really steep, rugged ravine to see if I could push a deer out to my buddies who were on point, when this big guy moved out around a large rock pile at about 50 yards and gave me a split second to make a shot. This is the best deer I have ever taken and I want to thank all my friends for their help in harvesting this deer and helping me drag it out of a really steep, rugged, nasty area. He was 24" inches wide and dressed out at 160 pounds.
